Easy Listening for Parents

You’re on the way to school and turn the radio on to add a more soothing soundtrack to the morning mayhem. And you switch it right back off again because you’ve heard that song 95 times in the last week or worse…because the tunes they’re spinning up on the radio today are less than ideal for little kids’ ears.

So what do you do when you’d like to listen in to some good music, and perhaps enjoy some candid parenting tips and a few laughs? Download and install Mom’s Heart.

Moms Heart

Launched earlier this year, Mom’s Heart is the brainchild of popular Durban DJ, Jane Linley-Thomas and was created in collaboration with Kagiso Media.

What is it?
Mom’s Heart is an app that streams tunes all day and includes parenting tips, interviews and some laughs, making it a great accompaniment to your school run or even a long road trip. I’ve also found it great as background music for when you’re at home.

Who is it for?
Mom’s Heart is primarily aimed at parents of kids between the ages of birth to ten years old, but the music is pretty diverse. For example, since I started typing this story up, I’ve listened to Incy Wincy Spider, Rita Ora and REM.

How to download
Mom’s Heart is free to download. Get it via iTunes here and for Android devices here. You can also check out the Mom’s Heart Facebook page for regular updates from this nifty service for parents.  Don’t forget – this is streaming audio, so listen in via WiFi where you can!
