Welcome back to the routines of the school year. While we shake off the holiday memories and get back into the groove of school, here are our top three tools that help make homework a little easier to manage:
I know, you’re rolling your eyes at me and saying “But this is a technology site!?!” But, trust me on this one – the dry-erase whiteboard is your friend. Use it for mind maps, figuring out difficult sums or even plotting out the homework tasks for the week. Alternatively, look forward to recycling a lot of paper – I’ve estimated that we ploughed through four notebooks just from making homework-related notes last year. Get a whiteboard and use it, or if you do want to go the tech route, use the note taking application on your tablet. Memio is pretty cool to use for this purpose too!
School stationery, but for home
By now, those pencil cases are bursting with tools for school, but there’s nothing more frustrating than trying to do homework with a blunt pencil or without the necessary calculator. If it’s possible, keep a small set of stationery at home for homework purposes and, remember, it’s totally okay to use your mobile phone’s calculator for Maths homework too. If you’d like to up the ante on that calculator, take a look at Calculator Plus or the RealCalc Scientific Calculator for your phone. Don’t forget, there’s also PhotoMath that can also help with figuring out those difficult sums!
Staying on track
Last year, we made a nifty little list of great apps for planning homework tasks and remembering what needs to get done for school projects. Take a look at it here!
Here’s to a great year at school!
